If your ride starts at 9AM, please drop off your pedals by 4PM Saturday 3/6, at registration. (See Questions 5 & 6 below.)

On Sunday also come dressed in your cycling gear and ready to ride!

3. When should I arrive on Sunday?

If you are participating at 9AM and did not go to pre-registration on Friday or Saturday, please be at the registration desk no later than 8AM. Other 9AM riders should be on their bikes by 8:30AM. Doors will open at 7:45AM. All riders should arrive at least 45 minutes before their ride time. In addition, give yourself at least 15 minutes to walk from parking to the event.

4. What should I do when I arrive on Sunday?

If you went to pre-registration, turn in any additional donation checks in an envelope at the Registration Desk. If you did not go to pre-registration, CHECK IN at the Registration Desk. Turn in your donations, checks & related forms and pick up your name badge.

Check your coat and any other items at coat check. Space is very limited at the bikes or on the courts, so please check your bags. It is also unsafe for you to have bags at your bike or on the courts as other people may trip on them. If you need something during the event, a volunteer can go and get it for you. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items from the coat check. Please do not check any valuables.

Check out the SPINODYSSEY Shop and the Silent Auction.

15 MINUTES before starting time please be ready to get to your bike. IF YOU START AT 9AM, please be at your bike no later then 8:30AM.

5. If I wear regular sneakers to ride, do I need to bring any pedals?

No. ALL bikes will have pedals with toe cages for those who ride using regular sneakers.

6. If I ride using bike shoes with cleats, do I need to bring my pedals?

YES. Some bikes will NOT have clips for SPD cleats. We cannot guarantee that your bike will have the correct clips for your cleats (SPD, Look etc.). However, if you want to ensure you can ride using your cleats, you MUST bring your own pedals. If you are riding at 9AM, please drop off your pedals at pre-registration no later than 4PM Saturday, 3/6. When you drop off pedals, be sure that they are marked with your name and phone number on them. (Write your name on masking tape and attach it to your pedals.) Please be sure when you are finished riding to have a bike tech remove the pedals so that you can take them with you. We cannot be responsible for lost or forgotten pedals. Please do not put on or remove pedals yourself.

7. If I am a top fundraiser, do I need to be present to select one of the top fundraising prizes?

Yes. Either you must be present in person or someone you designate must be present. The top fundraisers will be picking their own prizes from the choices available. If you are not present, you will miss your turn to select your prize and you will be left with whatever top prizes were not picked. The top fundraising prizes will be posted at the event. The top fundraiser prize winners will be announced in the last hour of the event. At 3:15PM the top fundraisers are to meet at the SpinOdyssey Shop where the Top Fundraiser prizes are located and Patty Kondub, SpinOdyssey Chair, will facilitate the awards.

8. What if I need assistance at the event (i.e., more water)?

Volunteers will be available to assist you at the event. Volunteers will be wearing white SpinOdyssey T-shirts so feel free to ask them for help.

9. Will there be food and water at the event?
Where can I eat the catered food?

Yes. We have a free supply of food, snacks, water and other drinks while quantities last for riders and volunteers only. Feel free to bring your small snacks and sports drinks in case we run out or it is not the kind you prefer. Filtered water fountains are available and encouraged. Catered food should be eaten in the refreshments area only and not in other areas of the event floor. You must wear your lanyard and name badge that you receive at check-in at all times, especially to enter the foods area that is only for riders and volunteers! Zumba participants can show their wristbands. You can tuck money, credit card and medical insurance card in the pouch at the end of the lanyard.

10. Can I change clothes and shower at the event? What about toilets?

Given the hundreds of riders at the event, lockers, showers and changing facilities are extremely limited. Come dressed in your cycling clothes and expect to leave that way. Please use the Port-a-Johns instead of any of the toilets in the building.

11. What should I do after my ride?

There are 10 minute breaks for riders at 10:50-11AM, 11:50-Noon, 12:45-1PM and 1:50-2PM. When your ride is over, ask a bike tech to remove your pedals if you brought them to the event.

Wipe down your bike and welcome the new rider!
Hydrate and eat. Free massages will also be available. If you have not already picked up your goodie bag, please do so and drive home safely! You will need to show your name tag from registration to receive a goodie bag.

If you can stay after the event, please help clean up. Your assistance would be very welcome.

12. What about cell phone, pager, and beeper use?

Please turn off all cell phones, two-way pagers and beepers during the rides. If you need to have your cell phone with you, please set it to vibrate, not ring. If using a cell phone, please leave the bike area and make your call from the fitness floor or elsewhere outside of earshot of the cycling area. Note that communication devices may not work everywhere in the facility.

13. What if I registered and cannot attend that day?

If you are unable to attend the event, please contact us at 203.767.3778 as soon as possible so we can release your bike to someone on our waiting list. Sorry but registration fees are not refundable.

14. Is the event non-smoking? Yes.

15. Will there be day care or babysitting available?

No. Please do not leave children unattended.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
Keep training and fundraising!
