Please use the parking lots at Hank Mays Goodyear or CarQuest Autoparts, directly behind Goodyear. Please do not try to park at INTENSITY or Annie Sez. Please use another parking lot. Remember to give yourself enough time to walk.

Put this in an envelope with your name and total on the outside. We will have special envelopes for this purpose or use your own envelope!

If you are participating at 9:00 AM and did not go to pre-reg on Fri./Sat. please be at the registration tables no later than 8:00 AM in the SPIN-O Village. Other 9:00 AM riders should be on their bikes by 8:30 AM. Doors will open at 7:45 AM. All riders should arrive at least 45 minutes before their ride time. In addition, give yourself at least 15 minutes to walk from parking to the event.

If you went to pre-registration, turn in any additional donation checks in an envelope at the Registration tables. If you did not go to pre-registration, CHECK IN at the Registration tables. Turn in your donations, checks & related forms and pick up your name badge.
Check your coat and any other items at coat check. Space is very limited at the bikes or on the courts or studios, so please check your bags. It is also unsafe for you to have bags at your bike or on the courts as other people may trip on them. If you need something during the event, a volunteer can go and get it for you. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items from the coat check.
Please do not check any valuables.

Yes. Either you must be present in person or someone you designate must be present. The top fundraisers will be picking their own prizes from the choices available. If you are not present, you will miss your turn to select your prize and you will be left with whatever top prizes were not picked. The top fundraising prizes will be posted at the event. The top fundraiser prize winners will be announced in the last hour of the event. At 3:15p the top fundraisers are to meet at the SPINODYSSEY Shop where the Top Fundraiser prizes are located and Patty Kondub, Clair Mason, Chris Klimek, Judy Samuels of the SPIN-O Committee will facilitate the awards.

Volunteers will be available to assist you at the event. Volunteers will be wearing Bright Pink or Washed-Out Brown SPINOdyssey T-shirts so feel free to ask them for help.

YES. We have a free breakfast & lunch from , the Official Fuel of SPIN-O 2012. Enjoy organic fresh fruit, freshly baked muffins and bagels, gogurt, pb&j sandwiches, pinwheel sandwiches and side salads! Hydrate with Steaz, Poland Spring & Honest Tea and other drinks while quantities last for riders and volunteers. Feel free to bring your small snacks and sports drinks if there is one that works best for you. Filtered water fountains are available and encouraged. FAIRWAY MARKET’s catered food should be eaten in the refreshments area only and not in other areas of the event floor.

Given the hundreds of participants, lockers, showers and changing facilities are extremely limited. Come dressed in your workout clothes and expect to leave that way. Please use the Port-O-Johns instead of any of the toilets in the building.

There are 10 minute breaks for all activities at 10:50 - 11:00 AM, 11:50 - Noon,
12:50 – 1:00 PM and 1:50 – 2;00 PM. After Herman at 9:00 — there is also a break 9:50 – 10:00. Riders ride straight from 9:00 - 10:50 the first two hours.
Visit the American Cancer Society researchers in the SPIN-O Village and our dedicated medical professionals from Norwalk Hospital!
Wipe down your bike when you leave if you are not riding 6 hours
and welcome the new rider!

Please turn off all cell phones, two-way pagers and beepers during the rides. If you need to have your cell phone with you, please set it to vibrate, not ring. If using a cell phone, please leave the bike area and make your call from the fitness floor or elsewhere outside of earshot of the cycling area. Note that communication devices may not work everywhere in the facility.

1. Money Raised
At 3PM on Sunday, March 6 we announced was raised for American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Research and national breast cancer clinical trials in Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital.

That puts SPINODYSSEY raising almost $3 million in 12 years! We also will have money from, after paying the event expenses such as insurance, police, staging, sound system, etc. to give to Whittingham Cancer Center and ACS for breast cancer research! That amount will be announced in another newsletter.

Who hosted our first satellite event on the same day----a four hour Zumba Marathon that was the second top fundraising team as of 3pm Sunday with $61,667!
Not only the Official Fuel for breakfast and lunch with freshly baked bagels and muffins, PB&J, delicious salads, wraps and organic fruit, but they also provide bottled water, Vitamin Water, ZICO Coconut Water, ice, organic bike cleaner, all paper products AND Fairway Goody Bags filled with great stuff, AND Top Fundraiser gift baskets!! And they had a team ride! Fairway proudly displays photos of SPINODYSSEY in their Canal Street Stamford store in the cafe.
Owner Jordy Scott for years has sponsored and ridden in SpinO with his sister and wife and has raised money as a member of the Wilton Y Team the past 8 years and this year sent a team. He supplies us with trucks and drivers and manpower all weekend for whatever SpinO needs i.e., schlepping bikes and things to storage. AND, over the past 8 years besides trucks and drivers they donated the beautiful trees with pink lights at the stage . . . Thank You Glen Gate!

6. Volunteers!
Simply put, without our volunteers, the event would not have been possible. Each of you has been an integral part of what makes SPINODYSSEY so special year after year.
And let’s not forget the that set-up Friday night in another record 50 minutes---a job that used to take four hours! Breakdown again was three hours ahead of schedule due to their non-stop manpower along with the The guys are key to the set up Friday & Saturday and breakdown Sunday the past 6 years! In prior years SPIN-O organizers would not finish cleanup until 10PM Sunday and this year we were out of the building by 6:45 PM! The nonprofit that SPINODYSSEY operates under is . Fred Ury is one of the co-founders of The Trek and is in the Band DNR that played at SPINODYSSEY! Check out and read about the outdoor ride he organizes that is the sister to SPINODYSSEY. It is Burlington, VT to Portland, ME in August, and 100% of the donations help the research for the AIDS Vaccine being developed at UCLA AIDS Institute and Emory Vaccine Center.
